1. ITS REALLY SUNNY
If you haven’t already noticed… Australia is one of the sunniest places on Earth, that’s if you go by daylight hours and UV rays. They say 99% of statistics are made up, but this one is proven by science – Oceania (mostly made up of Australia) officially has the highest DNI rating of all the continents. Don’t know what DNI is? Either Google it or check it out here: Fact check: Is Australia the sunniest continent on Earth? – ABC News. Anyway, solar panels turn sunlight and UV rays into energy that can be used in your home. So, if you own a home in Australia make sure you have solar.
2. ELECTRICITY IS EXPENSIVE
If you have lived in Australia as a responsible adult, then you’ve paid an electricity bill. If you’ve paid an electricity bill in Australia, you know it’s not cheap. Here’s a graph provided by Statista to show the rising prices in the last 30 years or so.
Doesn’t look great does it… well it’s a good job a properly installed solar system will provide electricity for your home all day long. You own your home, right? Now own your electricity.
3. THERE’S A REBATE
Solar rebates started in Australia in 2001. Yes that’s 20 years ago. At the time of writing in most states in Australia that rebate is somewhere around the $3500 mark. Meaning you’ll save that amount, just by purchasing a solar system today. Easy. Just imagine if the Government started giving out $3500 if you went to buy a Tesla, you’d do it for sure. Well in 5 years or so they might. So be smart and cash in on the solar rebate now. And then you can charge your Tesla using your solar system. If you’re smart, you’ll take the $3500 while it lasts.
4. THERE ARE FEED-IN TARIFFS
Energy providers will pay YOU the homeowner for excess electricity that goes back to them from your solar system. And yes, we get it, in most states 50 cent feed-in tariffs are a thing of the past. But getting 18c. 12c. 6c. or even 3c is not to be sniffed at. Because it’s better than getting nothing. State dependant, energy providers are still kicking homeowners back 10 cents or more at certain times of the day. It’s not rocket science though; they buy it off you for 10 cents and sell it to your poor neighbours without solar for 20 cents or even 30 cents in some cases. Of course, they’re making money from it. But so could you, so don’t be an idiot… get your solar system installed ASAP.
5. EVERYONE ELSE HAS IT
