Product Warranty Overview & 10 Year Workmanship Warranty

ABOUT THIS WARRANTY

This warranty applies to the residential customer named in the solar system installation agreement entered with Think Renewable Pt Ltd. This warranty exists over and above the consumer’s rights under consumer guarantees in Australian Consumer Law.

It covers:

1. Product manufacturer warranty overviews – protecting you, the customer, against issues directly related to systems components such as the panels, inverter, or battery
2. Think Renewable’s workmanship warranty – covers any defects that arise from the workmanship in installing your solar panels and solar inverter at the premises specified.

PRODUCT WARRANTIES

Think Renewable Pt Ltd uses only CEC-approved products. Manufacturer warranties for each product purchased are provided to the customer. The customer is entitled to claim a manufacturer’s warranty via Think Renewable Pt Ltd if the goods installed fail to meet the manufacturer’s warranty guarantee. Think Renewable Pt Ltd commits to implementing manufacturer warranty repair or replacement claims within a reasonable timeframe. Where replacement stock is not readily available onsite, Think Renewable Pt Ltd will endeavour to

source replacement products from the manufacturer as rapidly as possible, subject to manufacturer timeframes.

Exclusions of the product warranties

The consumer is not entitled to a remedy when Think Renewable Pt Ltd does not meet a consumer guarantee (statutory and retailer’s warranty) due to something:

• Someone else said or did (excluding our agents or employees); or
• Beyond human control that happened after the goods or services were supplied (for example, force majeure events, possums, extreme weather events etc)

• Your name, address and contact telephone number
• Outline the nature of the product defect
• Evidence of the product defect

WORKMANSHIP WARRANTY

Think Renewable offers a limited 10-year installation services warranty “workmanship warranty” for any defects in the work carried out by its qualified installers when installing a solar system at a residential premises.

The workmanship warranty protects you from labour-related defects i.e., those arising from the actual installation process. However, if our assessment reveals the fault is not part of this warranty, you may be liable for the cost of the call out.

Where the installation premise has been transferred to a new owner, (Company Name) will transfer this warranty to the new owner of the premise for the balance of the warranty period on the same terms.

Our commitment

Think Renewable will carry out and complete all work:

• In a proper and tradesperson-like manner
• In accordance with the legislative requirements including any relevant Australian Standards applicable to the works
• Using materials that are new, free of defects and of the highest quality for the purpose or application required
• With due diligence, expedition, and without delay; and by the date of Practical Completion

It does not cover the system or any of its components, including the performance of the panels or the inverter (which may be covered by separate product/manufacturer warranties and under law).

Where the warranty applies, Think Renewable will either (at its discretion and costs):

1. Re-do or repair the installation; or
2. Replace any faulty part with a comparable new or refurbished part so that the installation is no longer defective.

Limitations and exclusions of the workmanship warranty

To the extent permitted by law, claims are excluded from the workmanship where the defect or loss is or has been caused or contributed by

• Improper use of the solar system
• Failure to comply with manufacturer instructions
• Work on the system (including modifying, moving, and relocating any part of the system, even if temporary) performed by someone other than us or our installer
• Any act, omission, misuse, abuse, or damage (whether wilful, accidental, or negligent) caused by the customer or third party
• Any extreme weather not for the location in which the system was installed (e.g., lightning, floods, hail, power, surges, pest damage, corrosion, land or building movement)
• Interference from other devices
• General wear and tear
• Events outside of design range caused by the distributor or network operator
• A failure to promptly notify Think Renewable Pt Ltd of any defects. You need to regularly check your system is working properly; or any works or parts which were not part of the installation agreement.

How to claim under this workmanship warranty

You must provide all reasonable assistance to Think Renewable to help us diagnose and remedy any defects over the phone. If you do not do so, costs to attend your premise may not be covered by this workmanship warranty.
